Green Catering - sustainability in catering
FLORIS stands for sustainable, socially responsible and fair catering.
Whether environmental protection, social and economical responsibility or sustainable corporate governance:
FLORIS has been committed to these topics for over 10 years and is a leader in many areas.
Sustainable catering is much more than just offering regional and seasonal products.
We care about people and environment, thus we take RESPONSIBILITY and we do it with pleasure!
Our goal is to continue this action, to live sustainability and to regularly review the processes at FLORIS in this sense and to improve.

Sustainable Meetings Berlin (SMB)/ certificate
In May 2020 FLORIS was awarded the certificate
as "High Performer" Sustainable Meetings Berlin and was therefore accepted as a partner company of the visitBerlin Convention Office.
"The Sustainable Meetings Berlin certificate leads us to even greater corporate sustainability and anchors a continuous improvement process in our company," says managing director and owner Kerstin Vlasman.

DEHOGA / Environmental Check Award
FLORIS is a member of Deutscher Hotel- und Gaststättenverband e.V. (DEHOGA) and underwent the "DEHOGA Eco-Check" in the following categories: Energy / Environment, Water, Waste and Food, and took the Gold Eco-Award. This makes FLORIS the first catering company to receive this award for eco-conscious and sustainable action.
Companies undergoing the "DEHOGA Eco-Check" must subject themselves to a critical review of their energy and water consumption, waste generation and residual waste, as well as food, such as from regional purchases. Differentiated thresholds and requirements are used in the four categories for the award levels of bronze, silver and gold. The individual characteristics of each company are taken comprehensively into account. Our environmental measures can be found here on our website.
The DEHOGA Environmental Check is part of the DEHOGA energy and environmental concept, which pursues the energy campaign "Gastgewerbe" launched in 2006 together with the Federal Environment Ministry.

Klimakristall
As an award for our sustainability efforts FLORIS has received the award ‘Klimakristall’ by our partner KlimaInvest.
FLORIS Catering is the first caterer nationwide who has been certified by TÜV NORD with regards to a climate neutral balance of energy. Thus FLORIS received the award by KlimaInvest Green Concepts, a sustainability agency based in Hamburg. The award has been handed over by Senior Account Manager Philipp M. Krebs directly to the Managing Director Floris Vlasman. FLORIS Catering has achieved 100% of CO2 neutrality in the areas of energy supply (electricity, gas and water) and mobility (company owned vehicle fleet).
By using renewable sources and the additional compensation of CO2 greenhouse gases through the Gold Standard Project Portfolio of the sustainability agency KlimaInvest Green Concepts, FLORIS now works completely CO2 neutral.

Nomination for Caterer of the Year 2020
This year, the editors of Cooking + Catering inside magazine awarded the Caterers of the Year 2020 online. FLORIS was among the three best in the category Corporate and was thus nominated for Caterer of the Year 2020. FLORIS was already able to convince the expert jury in 2019 with its sustainable corporate management. More information can be found here.
