Particularly fair, particularly sustainable?
Green Chefs not only pay attention to fair and sustainable purchasing or fair trade. They are also characterized by the responsible use of their food. This means that waste is avoided where possible. For FLORIS it starts with shopping and does not end with the composting plant for kitchen waste.

Suppliers and manufacturers from the region
At FLORIS we try to buy regionally and seasonally as much as possible. Over time, we have built a network of very good and reliable partners and farms in Berlin and Brandenburg, all of whom are committed to sustainability. Just like us, they pay attention to climate neutrality and the environment in cultivation and production. In addition, they deal fairly with suppliers and employees.

No strawberries in February, no asparagus in winter
Do you remember that earlier in winter there weren't any berries, but nuts or apples? For many today it is perfectly normal to eat strawberries, raspberries and blueberries all year round. Grapes from South Africa? Tropical fruits from South America? If a customer wants non-seasonal fruits or vegetables, we at least offer alternatives. If a customer insists, we recommend offsetting with a climate certificate.

Don't print….
We have switched to digital wherever possible and are saving a lot of paper. If something needs to be printed out, we only do it on paper with the Blue Angel. We also selected our electricity supplier based on sustainability criteria, and motion detectors have been installed in the hall and common rooms. The sanitary facilities have water regulators. We have a heat pump, rely on e-mobility and use reusable dishes. If the latter does not work, it must at least be compostable disposable tableware, for example made from corn starch or bamboo.

Climate-neutral and sustainable events
For many of FLORIS customers, it is now a must to organize events in a climate-neutral manner. We can proudly say that we are the right partner!
